Author and Speaker Emily Goodson Partners with Hampton Roads Academy
Hampton Roads Academy welcomed alumna Emily Goodson back to her alma mater in May 2026 to deliver their Commencement Address. Drawing on her personal experience as a person who has lived with a disability since childhood and devoted her career to advocating for accessibility, she inspired the graduating seniors and their families, friends, and teachers with thought-provoking remarks.
Emily partnered again with the middle and upper schools at Hampton Roads Academy in September 2026 as part of their year of resilience. She delivered her assembly on how to build confidence and find your voice when you feel self-conscious to students in grades 8-12.
