About Emily

Emily Goodson is a storyteller, author, and former HR leader helping organizations rethink how they approach disability, confidence, identity, and connection.

Her work sits at the intersection of lived experience and organizational insight. After a brain injury at age eight resulted in partial paralysis, Emily developed a lifelong commitment to helping others understand disability as a lived experience that shapes identity, mental wellbeing, and leadership.

Today, Emily partners with companies across industries to deliver keynotes, facilitate conversations, and collaborate on thought leadership and storytelling initiatives. She works with People, Marketing, and Communications teams to help organizations foster more inclusive workplace cultures while also elevating authentic external narratives around belonging, mental health, and disability representation.

Her work helps organizations strengthen employee engagement, build trust with internal and external audiences, and communicate more meaningfully about identity and lived experience.

Emily is the author of Dating Disability, which explores confidence, intimacy, and emotional resilience through personal storytelling. Her voice and writing have been featured in the Los Angeles Times and other national outlets.
